I called my friend Cathy to find out when she would be arriving at her beautiful site. She told me that they would not be coming this year. Long story short, they made us an offer we couldn't refuse and we moved into their beautiful site with a finished shed and wonderful furniture!! Bikes and golf carts and golf bags had a wonderful secure storage spot!!

At night, there is mood lighting around the edge of the patio roof and glowing solar lights on the border fence! We even had a view of Mars (the dot of light in the bottom right photo!).
Sadly I didn't get a photo of Cathy and Steve, but here is one from years past around the table. From left to right is Mark, Steve, Dean, Anita and Cathy. A huge thank you for sharing your phenomenal RV site with us!! You guys are the BEST!!
Many nights, after dinner we go to the hole 9 tee box in front of the site and play that hole, stop at the pro shop, pay $12 for 9 holes, and then play holes 1 to 8 and walk the few steps right back to the RV. Here is the view of the blue billed ruddy ducks we love to view on one of the golf course ponds, and a view of our RV from the golf course!
Loved having three flower pots instead of just one. I followed Cathy's lead and planted one with a tomato plant even though I knew I would not get a huge harvest before we left. My Dad loves planting tomato plants so I did this to honor his tradition.
You can clearly see how these plants grew like crazy!! It was so much fun!
We enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at this park, but there is always lots to do. Water Aerobics Monday through Friday. A huge thanks to Christie (in the purple hat) for running this! And, we run the Wednesday RV park golf group! Yes, some of that is my writing - I had to make some changes to the large sign.
We loved Friday Night Fights golf for couples. The format of 9 holes and dinner is one of our favorites. We played four times and won $192!! The dinners are wonderful. The best was grilled steaks with a foil covered baked potato, tossed salad and a hot roll. And, it gets even better - dinner costs $17 a couple!!! Speaking of winnings, Mark won $260 in a Men's League better ball tournament. Plus he won lots of other golf events!!
The best part of golf for me was a series of lessons with PGA Pro, Luke Baker. Mark was amazed at how much Luke was able to improve my game. I now actually have a full follow through!!
We had a fun time watching a Killdeer who we named "Chirpie" with her eggs in the rocks that surround the RV site. She is posing for us in front of her four beige speckled eggs hidden as they blend into the rocks.
Mark got too close when we washed the RV and Chirpie is in the typical killdeer mode of playing wounded wing when someone gets too close to their nest!
It took a full month but we finally saw chicks - they don't look like much when they first break out of the shell!!
But within a day they are miniature birds and the next day they had literally flown away!
We always like to experience the local entertainment in a new city. We were pleasantly surprised when we went to the Circle Moon dinner theater nearby Lake Sacheen. The total cost was $25 per person. We enjoyed dinner and a great show called "Song of the Open Road." These locals can really sing!!
We took a day trip to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. We went to the Lake City Playhouse for the Sunday matinee performance of "The Wedding Singer." It is a musical set in New Jersey in 1985 based on the Adam Sandler film.
While we were in the area we took a ride out to Coeur D'Alene resort for dinner. I think these sculptures are amazing!
We had never been to Coeur D'Alene Resort golf course, famous for its floating green. We ate at the Floating Green Restaurant with an amazing view! Dinner started with Dungeness Crab Fondue (crab and gruyere cheese with French baguette slices for dipping). Main course was Rustic Vegetable Burrata Cheese Ravioli (spinach sautéed with garlic onion and free form ravioli). The highlight was the dessert!! It is a warm thick cake-like chocolate chip cookie topped with a coffee caramel ice cream and shaved chocolate. It is amazing!!
The view is a spectacular!! Sadly, we watched most players hit the ball into the water!! But there is a drop zone on the side of the floating green. You can see the boat that carries the players back and forth docked to the right of the green.
Had to get the "we were there" photo. The hat was a "must have" purchase in the pro shop!!
We love to go to nearby Greenbluff to pick berries. We had intended to go early and pick strawberries but we missed the strawberry season. We did make it out for some raspberry picking. We tried a new farm, Harvest House. It wasn't as large as Bodacious Berries, that we went to in the past, but we wanted to try something new. We had a great lunch and ended up with quite the haul of raspberries!
Our two month stay is coming to a close but its Birthday Week. Our birthdays are one week apart so we celebrate for the entire week. We found a deal for locals at Coeur D'Alene resort golf course and went back to try our hand at the floating green!! Started out with a massage to loosen up the muscles, then hitting at the practice green - yes, you hit into the water! They even made us bag tags!!
Lots of beautiful holes around Lake Coeur D'Alene.
But, the 14th floating green is rightfully the signature hole!! We were thrilled to shoot par!!
We had a great time! It was nice having a caddy to rake the bunkers, find any wayward balls, hold your wedges when its time to putt, and keep the pace of play moving on the course. The bunker rakes have their own slot so they are not thrown all over the bunker - what a great idea!!
Our caddy Dillon had us for his first time caddying by himself after a two week training run. He did share some of the war stories of groups from his trial run. He loved caddying with us!! I didn't get a good shot of the golf cart but the wheels just sparkle!!
We decided we enjoyed the Floating Green restaurant so much we went back for birthday dinner. We had the same appetizer and dessert but changed to a scrumptious thick pork chop with mango salsa for our entrée. It was the perfect ending for a perfect day. Couldn't have had a better site to celebrate our birthdays!
We did have one more special outing for our Birthday week. Mark loves Chewelah golf course and Chewvino restaurant. On the golf course we saw deer walk right up to the front of this house. One deer is between the two windows and the other is to the right of the flag. Dinner was three fabulous appetizers: baked brie with pecan glaze and apples, balsamic glazed steak and a scallops dish. It was all yummy!!
We had a fabulous two month stay but its time to move on. Next stop: Lewiston, Washington.
