Lebanon, Ohio Part 1 July 27-August 26

We said goodbye to Louisville, KY and headed to Cedarbrook Campground in Lebanon, Ohio.  We scheduled a month in this location primarily due to the fact that a major tennis tournament was scheduled in nearby Cinncinnati for almost the entire length of our stay!

Some days we had quite the view out of the front window of the RV!

This year's Seeing America Tour has turned up some amazing entertainers.  One of the first things we got to do was go to the Freedom Concert at Kings Island to experience the Charlie Daniel's Band.  What a great evening!

We did make it to the professional tennis tournament and got in some of the early matches in great box seats at Center Court! We saw, among others,  the USA's rising star, Melanie Oudin.

We went to the Grandstand Courts to watch the Hantuchova match and who was sitting across the aisle (in the red jacket)...none other than the recent Olympic Gold Champion in Tennis, Elena Dementieva!

But the highlight of the ladies matches was an amazing doubles player, Su-Wei Hsieh from Taipei.  She was tall and thin and she floated around the court like nothing we had ever seen.  Mark and I were blown away and loved every minute of the match!!

However, the best tennis, in my humble opinion, was the fine group of ladies (Cindy, Shelly, Jan and Rita - not pictured Ceil and Nancy) I had the pleasure of joining at the local courts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 AM.

To make a great situation even better, we played on a well shaded court!  In a short time this great group became great friends, a testament to the quality of people you meet in towns and cities across the country!
I felt like they adopted me, inviting me to their summer pool party, sharing just picked corn from Rita's garden, dinner with Cindy and her husband Barney, and a wonderful small town summer concert featuring Cindy's trio, Voice of Hope.

It was a beautiful summer evening, sitting in the shaded grass, a light breeze pushing a beautiful balloon through the sky, a large renovated Odd Fellows building (in the left background), a gazebo and three beautiful voices warming your soul...its Mayberry RFD and life just does not get any better than this!
We spent a month in the Cinncinnati area and I have lots more to report so look for the next update for more photos of this great stop!
