It's New - 7th Year Re"new"al

On July 28, 2008 we took possession of our RV and started the Seeing America Tour.  We originally planned on RVing for two years but we love it so much we are still not ready to stop.  We decided that as we will probably go at least another 5 years, it's time to do some upgrades.

In January, with 105,000 miles on our Honda CRV, we sold the Honda and bought a Buick Enclave.  With a third row of seats, that we can fold down, we now have more space in the back for golf clubs and carts!  As it is silver, it also looks better when it is pulled behind the RV that has silver in its paint design.

The RV came with a satellite dome installed on the roof.  However, shortly after we bought the RV, DirectTV changed its satellites and we couldn't get high Def with our existing satellite antenna.  While we were in St. George we upgraded our antenna so we can now enjoy seeing the golf ball or the tennis ball when we watch tournaments.

As we are talking about new, here is a photo of my electric bicycle.  You can just use the throttle and it goes by itself.  Or, the way I always use it, put it in pedal assist mode.  I still pedal, but I can set the level that the electric motor assists my forward motion.   Not only can I easily handle hills and headwinds, but I can now keep up with Mark.  The lithium battery is actually part of the frame with the Easy Motion written on it.

As the electric bike is a bit heavier than a regular bike, we had to upgrade the bike rack and mounted it on the back of the motorhome.

Our old grill, after 7 years of usage and me cleaning the words off the controls, was ready to be replaced.  We found an exact replica and quickly installed it.

Mark finally broke down and purchased an I-phone.  He now uses it all the time and has found it to be great for listening to audio books.  He finished James Patterson's Miracle on the 17th Green in one day and Miracle at Augusta in one day.

Mark purchased a Spot Emergency GPS.  I can now track his movements via satellites. If anything serious happens while hiking he can get an emergency helicopter response anywhere, anytime.

After 7 years, our La Crosse Weather station died.  I called them and they offered me a new weather station at 45% off.  The new one is in color and with the larger sized digits it is much easier to read.  We love it!

Our major purchase was to re-tile and re-carpet the RV.  The old ceramic tile was not of the highest quality nor did we really like the design.  It had become scratched and damaged and worn.  We, also, never liked the color or style of the carpet.

Here is a photo of the old carpet and the tile.

And, here is the coach with the new carpet and the new tile.  It has made the interior appear much larger, and much more elegant.  We both love it!!

That's the big news on our new purchases!!  Our coach now feels like new again!
