Richfield, Utah and Fruita, CO 6/8-6/11

Our next stop was Richfield, Utah - a stopping point to get us from St. George to Colorado.  There was one adventure worth sharing.  We followed a car pulling a boat out to Fish Lake.  We were very surprised to see, even though it was late June and these mountains are not very high, that there was still snow on the mountains

It didn't take long and we found beautiful Fish Lake.
Now its on to Fruita, Colorado.  The trip to Fruita did not disappoint with another significant change in scenery.  I especially like the solar panel compared to the natural beauty of the rock outcroppings.

Despite the numerous twists and turns in the road, the scenery is a thing of beauty.

Once again we had a beautiful view from our site in the State Park in Fruita

Fruita is another return location.   Last time we were in Fruita I found the best peaches.  So off we went to Palisades but we were too early in the season for Peaches.  But not to early for wine!!  We stopped at this winery and met, of all people, a tennis instructor.  We tried to convince Paul and his wife to come to Arizona.

We went into town and stopped at Spice of Life Bakery for some fresh baked bread and a gooey dessert.  It is a favorite so I added the photo for the memory.

Fruita offers some of the most amazing Mountains.

But the best is the view of Colorado National Monument!  Here is a landscape panoramic photo - trying out the new camera while Mark is getting ready to putt.  Now isn't that a great background for a golf course.

But you can really enjoy the views from the golf course in this regular photo

Speaking of a great view, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Glenn and Helen Arnold's in Grand Junction. Glenn and Helen are two great people we met at the Palm Creek Tennis Club.  Their house has a beautiful view of a small mountain from the back. The front of the house has a great view of the Colorado National Monument!  Here are the four of us enjoying a Palm Creek style happy hour (lots of wine and appetizers) on their patio.  Mark even got to play tennis with Glenn and his group and had a great time.

Well, its time to say goodbye to Helen and Glenn and goodbye to Fruita.

Its time to move on - Durango, Colorado, here we come!
