We pulled into an RV park that faces the Bay. The tides here are pretty drastic. Here is the view of the bay when the tide is out.
We had a wonderful grilled Halibut dinner (no photos)at Leanne and Ron's . We all went out to Homestead Farms for a round of golf and a fun lunch (no photos). But, the highlight of this trip was a boat ride into the Strait of Georgia that runs between the US and Canada.
Along the way we saw...
A beautiful lighthouse on the point...
Some interesting marine life enjoying the warmth of the sun...
An eagles nest in the center tree. We saw the majestic flight of an eagle but, sadly it flew too fast to catch a photo
We had fun watching a mama seal and her pup...
...and enjoyed so many beautiful views from the water.
Here is a photo of us with Mount Ranier in the background. We did get to see porpoises jumping in the waves, but we did not see a whale.
Here are two beautiful ladies enjoying some unbelievably beautiful views...just look at the one behind us!
And, what a great background this sailboat makes for a photo of Ron and Mark .
We stopped at an Island to explore, snack, and...
enjoy some views like this one ...
We're scheduled to see Angie and Frank again after this trip and Ron told us to tell Frank that this was Ron's Boat...its about 100 feet, a real sweet ride!
We ended our visit to Birch Bay with dinner at "The Beach House" with Ron and Leanne.
We were about the last to leave the restaurant as we sat talking and enjoying the sunset. Because Birch Bay is at the far northwest point of the country the sun did not set until close to 10pm! And, now you can see the difference when the tide is in!
We had a great time in Birch Bay but its time to head off to the next stops: Mt Vernon, Twisp and Leavenworth all still in Washington.
