Marina, CA 3/22 - 3/25

We left Palm Creek early to have plenty of time to get to the coast of California for niece Harmony's wedding!!   We arrived on Thursday and stopped at Brophy's (pub visit in place of bonfire) to greet the bride and groom.  We had dinner at a Harmony recommended Greek Restaurant, Dametra Café.  The cook even came out to serenade a birthday girl!

We had all day Friday open. We decided to make the most of it and head out to the infamous Pebble Beach Golf Course and also take the 17 miles drive!  We were hungry so we decided to enjoy lunch at the Stillwater Restaurant that overlooks the 18th green at Pebble Beach.

California Toast with smoked salmon and avocado and Sweet Corn Buttermilk Soup - Yum!

We just loved this sign on every table - behavior modification for birds??

Mark picked out the perfect Pebble Beach Souvenir for me.  Love my new jacket!

We enjoyed viewing a lot of golf collectibles at one of the shops.  We found this display of signed golf balls, from all of the Masters' winners, quite interesting!!

After our wonderful stop at Pebble Beach we went back to the beginning of the famous 17 mile drive.  It is quite scenic and winds around neighborhoods, golf courses, and iconic sights!!

Is that a seal in front of the rocks???

Spyglass Hill Golf Course also enjoys some amazing views

How can you not stop and watch these plump Harbor Seals??

One looked like he was waving at us!!

Last stop on 17 mile drive is Lone Cypress.  This 250 year old tree was adopted by Pebble Beach as their logo.

We were in the area so we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  First thing we did was watch all the videos they show in the auditorium.  Our favorite video was "Luna: A Sea Otter's Story."  They have questions for you to answer during the change overs.  We learned some amazing things!!
They have many huge tanks of all kinds of large fish . . .

. . . and tanks of smaller sea creatures.  We loved watching the sardines swirl!!

But our favorites were the penguins . . .

. . .  and the Jelly Fish.

Last but far from least there was a Coastal Access trail adjacent to our RV Park.

Its a short walk, but it is through sand, but the views are worth it.  This one is to the left . . .

. . .and this photo was the view to the right.

Next update covers The Wedding!!
