Nashville, Tennessee June 13-21, 2010

We made a quick stop in Memphis, TN but we passed up the tourist magnet of Graceland...so no photos!!

Our next stop was Nashville, Tennessee.  We felt like we missed Graceland so we couldn't hit Nashville and not stop at...you guessed it...The Grand Ole Opry.  How do you like the cute ole cowboy at the door???

We went to the classic country show with the opening act being none other than a cute ole Minnie Pearl look a like - we knew we were definitely at the Grand Ole Opry..howwwwwdeee!!

But the main attraction was Crystal Gayle - she still sounds great but what was truly amazing is that her hair is so long it almost touches the floor!

How could we visit Nashville and not visit the home of our Seventh President....and if you don't know who that is ....it's Andrew Jackson

The Hermitage is a beautiful brick home that is still furnished with the original decor of Andrew and his beloved wife Rachel Jackson.

One of the predominent sights in the garden is the Jackson Tomb.  On President Jackson's all it says is "General Andrew Jackson."

There were lots of trails to walk and a wonderful audio self guided tour.  You just pushed the number of the location and it provided a brief narrative of the sight you were viewing.
One of the other hightlights, that regretfully I have no photo to share, was picking wild blackberries on the many, many bushes at the boundries of the RV Park.  I picked a small bag, but Mark proved to be the expert berry picker.  I used them to make a delicous blackberry cobbler...yum!

We also got to play a few golf courses and then we were ready to move on.  Fasten your seat belts, next stop is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
